De Bortoli Wines Pty Ltd.

De Bortoli's have standardised their IT strategy around Open Standards, preferably delivered via Open Source software. We have worked on numerous projects for De Bortoli's, these few are some of our favourites.

William Bull Stockists

De Bortoli's recently launched their beer brand William Bull, and produce a really great Pilsner. We partnered is producing a production level version of their Stockists page. It provides a Google map based interface of all stockists for Red Angus. Users can narrow the list of stockists by post code, location or suburb. Complete with street view integration its a great way of promoting their products.

Stockists also features an editor interface for the De Bortoli's staff members to maintain the stockists information.

Web Infrastructure

We provide DeBortoli Wines with a failover Xen based Linux virtualised hosting solution. DeBortoli's hire two Virtual Machines running CentOS 5.x, a live and a spare Web server. The spare mirrors changes from the primary Virtual Machine and provides instant failover.

Web based VPN

De Bortoli's have moved most of their services to be Web enabled. Their VPN is a state of the art entirely Web based VPN system custom built for their requirements. It features two-factor authentication using SMS and alternate methods for regular users.

Shell In a Box an Open Source project that provides AJAX shell access to UNIX system was one of our key ingredients to this project. We worked closely with Markus (author of Shell In a Box) and managed to sponsor the development of some extra features in Shell In a Box.

GDataCopier

GDataCopier one of our popular Open Source contributions to the Google ecosystem, was initially a commission we did for De Bortoli's. At it's conception it cutting edge as Google did not allow programatic export of documents into their Google documents system.

We Open Sourced GDataCopier (now available on Google Code, under the GNU/GPL). Since its initial release in 2007, we have rewritten the utility to use the official export API provided by Google.
