Xen Overview

Xen is a virtual machine monitor for IA-32 (x86, x86-64), IA-64 and PowerPC 970 architectures. It allows several guest operating systems to be executed on the same computer hardware concurrently.

Using Xen we offer your own part of our machine. We manage hardware, software and bandwidth. You get your own isolated Linux environment to run your business applications.

Need for Virtualized Hosting?

Increasingly most Web sites are really applications that are delivered using a Web based interface. Some common examples are Content Management Systems, Shopping Carts, Registration systems, Order Tracking systems, etc.

As these applications become complex, they require a specific environment to run in. This is generally because of the specific technologies that have been used to develop the consumer application. Technologies such as Image processing libraries, Network communication, Databases, and in some cases specific modules to the programming environment.

Where shared servers allow you to share 100% of the resources of a single physical machine between multiple web sites, it quickly becomes unfair on the smaller web sites as the larger ones consume more resources. And as the requirements become specific you run the risk of overlap of requirements between multiple applications

Virtualization allows us to run a completely self contained copy of the Operating System with all the tools you need exclusively you for. This means that all updates and changes effect you and only you. Most importantly the resources allocated to you are dedicated to you and can't be touched by other Virtual Machines.

What do we provide?

We choose Xen for our Virtualization needs and only provide hosting options for Linux based operating systems. Each VM is custom configured with the distribution of your choice, we choose CentOS 5 for the host machines.

Failover options are provided on separate physical machines, you pre-pay public bandwidth with us. We use Pingdom for our monitoring services and one of our engineers is always on stand by.

Depending on the availability of hardware commissioning your order may take between 24 hours to one week.
